A friend of mine told me about Orchid Bees, beautiful, shy, gentle, almost luminous-green bees – almost an iridescent metallic sheen. The males LOVE clove oil, they rub it on their legs and it attracts the ladies. She brought me a bottle, and the minute I opened it, I had a visitor – a tiny Orchid Bee – super gentle, inquisitive and just delightful. After a lot of research, I found a great 3D printer in the UK (Trevor – an absolute genius when it comes to designing and making 3D printed items! And a lovely man who loves nature) who makes Bee Pods (the round ones), and I helped design the Orchid Bee Club (flat, flying saucer shape) – both perfect to attract Orchid Bees. The ONLY brand of clove oil they seem to like is the NOW brand. And no, the Orchid bees don’t work for NOW, they don’t get commission (neither do I) – it’s just what they seem to like.
